HollandWest Productions is an award-winning full-service television and film production company, founded by industry heavyweights Kurt Williamson and Warren Oliver. As production partners and best friends, the two dared to make a creative impact from an early age. Working in physical production, Williamson developed as a Producer through the ranks at MTV, where he contributed to culture-shifting programming and lifestyle-driven content. Oliver molded his creative eye as an Art Director for HBO, where he conceptualized and oversaw on-air campaigns for Russell Simmons’ Def Poetry Jam series.
In 2012, their paths collided, and their collaborative vision began to take root. The two designed a blueprint for HollandWest Productions – a company that would create and produce stories of purpose, showcasing images that uplift, educate, and inspire the masses. Soon, they connected with innovative brands and fellow storytellers to produce visually stylistic short and long-form content. This includes commercials, narrative films, documentaries, television, branded content, and more.
With grit, intention, and the power to shift the narrative, HollandWest Productions has become a cultural changemaker, reclaiming the visual medium for black creators.
Some of HollandWest’s most notable projects include Michelle Obama’s three-time Telly Award-winning, “When We All Vote” campaign, and a live performance for Netflix Playlist, “The Harder They Fall,” and a short mini-series that accompanied the “Lincoln” documentary with the History Channel backed by Ancestry.com
Most recently, HollandWest Productions became the creative agency behind the reboot of Yo! MTV Raps, where they executive produced and directed eight episodes.
Alongside client work, HollandWest develops and produces its own intellectual property including several unscripted docuseries projects that are in development, and the award-winning short film, Four Seasons.
With a creative community that extends to over 1,000 freelancers nationwide, HollandWest connects with writers, producers, and thought-leaders to deliver fresh cinematic storytelling, customized to the client’s budget, demographic, and/or brand.
